Roz Plater is an award-winning journalist with more than two decades of experience. She has worked as a reporter/anchor in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, D.C. Her work has won her an Emmy, multiple Emmy nominations and an Associated Press Award for breaking news coverage.

She has written dozens of health and science articles for Healthline.com. The online health information website has more than 150 million readers per month.  The state of California included one of her articles on the COVID-19 pandemic in its pleadings of a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. 

Plater taught broadcast journalism at San Jose State University for two years.  

The Washington, D.C. area native has a masters in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a long time member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
