Truthdig, a political news website founded by USC Annenberg professor Robert Scheer and alumna Zuade Kaufman, won the Webby People’s Voice Award for best political blog for 2014.
The site won its first Webby Award in this category in 2007 and has now won 6 Webby Awards, including best political website. Scheer, who is the editor-in-chief of Truthdig, credits USC Annenberg with much of the site's success.
“The thing that’s been very exciting for me about Truthdig is that, basically, Annenberg was the incubator, both on the communication and journalism side,” said Scheer, adding that a lot of the site’s contributors come from USC Annenberg.
