AI and Blockchain 101 with Microsoft’s Wendy Spies

M{2e}’s Women’s Leadership Society is delighted to host an in-depth discussion with Wendy Spies, Director of Business Development for Data and AI across Microsoft. 

Wendy’s presentation will ground students and faculty on uses cases for the business application of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain. She will also discuss her career as a startup investor and strategies for how professional women can excel in their careers, while also maintaining work-life balance.

J. Wendy Spies is the Director of Business Development for Data and AI across Microsoft. In more than twenty years of successful startup product leadership, she has brought multiple companies from product conception to financial exit. Her successful ventures include 21.co, which secured a 100x return on investment; trialpay.com, whose offering still powers Visa’s advertising network; and Voltage Security, which is used as the corporate encryption standard for more than one third of the Fortune 500. Wendy is now focused on furthering Microsoft's mission of personal and organizational empowerment by guiding technology investments. Currently, her primary focus at Microsoft is to build, buy, and partner to develop game-changing solutions for customers in the Cloud and Enterprise, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning divisions. In three years, she has developed product and driven investment in blockchain, containers, AI, data and OSS. Wendy holds a B.S. in Engineering from Stanford.
