Jingfang Liu is a Ph.D candidate at Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California. Her broad research interest centers around Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and social change at the organization, societal, and global levels. Under this umbrella, she studies information technology innovation for sustainability, organizational communication and change, environmental communication, new media and technology for social movement, global communication and business. A major part of her current research focuses on examining how business and nonprofit organizations engage in ICT innovation for purposes of environmental and social responsibility. Her research involves various organizational forms including business organization, non-governmental organization, and grassroots social groups. She incorporates both qualitative and quantitative methods, and often adopts an (appreciative) critical approach. Prior to her PhD study, she worked as an IT consultant and business analyst for various organizations including Cox Communication, Georgia.gov., small consulting firms and e-commerce start-up, and worked with clients such as GE and the Federal Home Loan Bank. Her academic background also includes a M.S. in CIS (Computer Information Systems) and a M.A. in Applied Linguistics, both obtained at Georgia State University.
