Graduate students are invited to a mixer and discussion with Annenberg’s first Innovator in Residence,
Dr. Irving Wladawsky-Berger. As the head of IBM's internet strategy during the mid-nineties, Dr. Wladawsky-Berger led the effort to transform a company that was dominant in an old, fading pre-internet world into one that could compete in the burgeoning new one. He also led a number of company-wide initiatives like Linux in Grid Computing and the On Demand Business initiative. He currently advises both IBM and Citigroup on strategy. A physicist by training, Dr. Wladawsky-Berger, who hails from Cuba, was named Hispanic Engineer of the Year in 2001. Dr. Wladawsky-Berger is in residence at USC November 3-7, 2009.
