Fighting for Survival: The State of the News Media 2009
Annenberg Auditorium, 5:30 p.m.
USC Annenberg's School of Journalism presents a discussion with Tom Rosenstiel, director of the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ). Rosenstiel will discuss the major findings of PEJ’s annual report on American journalism, “The State of the News Media 2009,” including updates on developments during the past few months. The presentation will provide students — and all interested in journalism and information in the public interest — with important baseline data on major trends in both the editorial and business sides of journalism. A journalist for more than 20 years, Rosenstiel is a former media critic for the Los Angeles Times and chief congressional correspondent for Newsweek. RSVP requested. To RSVP, click here.
5:30 p.m. Reception. 6:00 p.m. Discussion.
