CULTURAL DIPLOMACY: Clash or Conversation?
USC Davis Auditorium Room 124, 9:30 a.m.
Join The USC Association of Public Diplomacy Scholars to discuss whether cultural diplomacy is a dialogue between cultures or a clash of civilizations? How do cultural programs and policies impact relations between states and by extension, the attitudes of foreign publics? Can Hollywood bridge state barriers by working with directors and producers abroad? How can music encourage mutual exchange? This one-day symposium seeks to explore these questions further by consulting with scholars and practitioners of cultural diplomacy. Lunch will be served. RSVP requested.
