“Behind the Lens” discussion with the winners of World Press Photo 2008
Annenberg East Lobby and Auditorium, 6:00 p.m.
Tim Hetherington , winner of World Press Photo of the Year 2007 and other winners of the 2008 contest will show and discuss their work. Hetherington won with an image of a weary American soldier in Afghanistan (pictured, right). He is a freelance photographer and filmmaker who creates diverse forms of visual narratives from long-term projects. Hetherington will be joined by Erika Larsen, winner for a series on child hunters published in Field & Stream, David Liittschwager, winner for images of microscopic sea creatures published in National Geographic and Justin Maxon, winner for an image of a homeless Vietnamese woman and her child.
