Author discussion: Alan Weisman
Geoffrey Cowan Forum (Annenberg Room 207), 2:00 p.m.

Join journalism professor Sandy Tolan, author of The Lemon Tree: An Arab, A Jew, and the Heart of The Middle East, for a discussion and book signing with journalist Alan Weisman, author of The World Without Us. From Professor Tolan: "In an astonishing, sustained piece of reporting, Weisman travels across the world – from the Korean Demilitarized Zone to the abandoned lands around Chernoblyl; from ancient primeval European forest, to ruins in Turkey and Cyprus, to coral reefs in Micronesia, to the landscape of Mayan Guatemala – in a book the writer Bill McKibben calls 'one of the grandest thought experiments of our time.' ”  Refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Knight Chair in Media and Religion and the USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture.
