11:30 am Eastern, 8:30 am Pacific
Researchers from the Lear Center Local News Archive, a project of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and the University of Wisconsin, in collaboration with the Pew Hispanic Center, studied network and local news coverage by Univision and Telemundo stations in Los Angeles, Miami and New York in the weeks leading up to the 2004 local and national U.S. elections. The study offers analysis of the content and quantity of political coverage available to Spanish-speaking American audiences in comparison to the major broadcast networks that serve the English-speaking population: ABC, CBS and NBC.
