Celebrating the life of Leroy Aarons
Annenberg Auditorium, 6:00 pm
Join Dean Geoffrey Cowan, faculty, staff, students and friends for a celebration of the life and legacy of Prof. Roy Aarons, who directed USC Anneberg's Project on Sexual Orientation Issues in the News. The program, organized by Steve Montiel, director of USC Annenberg's Institute for Justice and Journalism, will include remarks by leaders in journalism, civil rights, and the arts. Prof. Aarons, a celebrated reporter and editor who led teams that won the Pulitzer Prize, was the founder of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, which has grown to more than 1,300 members. He died in November after a long battle with cancer (http://ascweb.usc.edu/asc.php?pageID=388&storyID=56).
