Walk-in Advising
  • First three weeks of the semester from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Mandatory Advising

COMM and JOUR students are required to meet with an adviser each semester. You will receive an e-mail to your USC account notifying you when to sign up.
  • Be aware of your assigned adviser when scheduling your appointment. Annie Mateen meets with BRJO students and JaBari Brown meets with PRJO and PREL majors.
  • Be prepared. Review the schedule of classes and your STARS report.

Journalism Departmental Honors

Journalism faculty nominates high achieving students to participate in the Journalism Honors Seminar (JOUR 498). Nominations are based on academic achievement, performance in the classroom, leadership and involvement in the school. Students who successfully complete the Honors Seminar course will receive departmental honors.

Study Abroad

The London Semester allows print and broadcast journalism majors to spend a spring semester in London. Students earn a total of 16 units. Print and broadcast students earn eight upper division journalism elective units and eight general elective units. The Summer International Communication Studies program (ICS) is open to all Annenberg students. Print journalism, broadcast journalism and public relations students can earn a total of six upper division journalism elective units by participating in this program.
