Mandatory AdvisingCOMM and JOUR students are required to meet with an adviser each semester. You will receive an e-mail to your USC account notifying you when to sign up.
- Be aware of your assigned adviser when scheduling your appointment.
- Be prepared. Review the schedule of classes and your STARS report.

Progressive Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Master of Communication Management
The progressive degree program allows superior students to complete both a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Master of Communication Management in as little as five years.
Students must submit an Annenberg progressive degree application, a USC progressive degree application, a proposed course plan, a statement of purpose, a STARS report, a resume, a writing sample, and two letters of recommendation from USC faculty members.

USC Annenberg School of Communication Honors Program
Please read the following information carefully. In order to be admitted into the Communication honors program, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a declared Communication major with senior standing (96+ units).
- Have a 3.5 cumulative USC GPA and a 3.5 in all Communication courses taken.
- Completed the core requirements for Communication: any four of COMM 200, 201, 202, 203, and 206 and two of COMM 204, 301L and 322
The Honors Track
You must complete the following courses:
- COMM 495 – Honors Seminar (4 units) Recommended Preparation: COMM 301
- COMM 497 – Honors Thesis (4 units)
- Students may also work with a professor to customize a 400-level COMM course for honors status in place of COMM 495. See advisor for supplemental form.
- Students must receive at least a B+ or higher in the two honors courses.
- Please note that completion of these courses does not guarantee departmental honors. You must also maintain a 3.5 overall and in all your Communication coursework in order to graduate with Communication honors.
