Online journalism graduate student Andy Sternberg started The Small Print Project as part of an assignment for PUBD 510 – Set-Top Cop, a class in the Public Diplomacy program taught by Cory Doctorow. In the class, students analyze the evolution of End-User License Agreements (EULAs) as entertainment and software have become more prevalent online. Sternberg brought his blog outside of the classroom so others could share their experiences with EULAs and collaborate "in an effort to help define, describe and mediate the nature of agreements in the digital age."

Students in Public Relations pursue a number projects during their time at USC Annenberg.
