USC holds a Commencement ceremony every May for all students who complete degree programs during the academic year (the previous fall, the current spring, and those who anticipate finishing in summer). USC’s next Commencement will be May 1, 2014. Annenberg hosts its own graduation (satellite) ceremonies for its students on the same day following the USC ceremony.

Students may request permission to participate in the Annenberg satellite Commencement ceremony even if they do not anticipate completing their degree program until the following fall semester. While such students are not eligible to be listed in the university-published Commencement Program, they may have their name listed in the Annenberg Commencement Program and may participate in the ceremony.

Neither USC nor Annenberg distribute actual diplomas at Commencement. Students who participate in the satellite ceremony receive a diploma cover and a certificate of participation. Degrees are conferred only after all degree requirements are verified. It will take approximately 4 – 6 weeks for students to receive their diplomas, which are mailed by the Diploma Coordinator. It is important that your mailing address is correct in the USC system.

Any student wishing to verify completion of their degree before their diploma arrives may order a final transcript as soon as all degree requirements are verified and the degree is conferred. Students should contact their advisor for the exact date of conferral.
